Musicians

Tom Smith

Tom Smith is NOT your ordinary filker, or even your ordinary comedy musician. With the lyrical complexity of Ashman and Sondheim, the vocal fireworks of Meat Loaf, the comedic timing of Robin Williams, and the dynamic physique of the Skipper from Gilligan's Island, the only thing he won't do is be boring. No one alive combines the musical chops, the bizarre yet somehow plausible premises, the catchy tunes, and the barrage of godawful puns that Tom brings to the table. And no one is likelier to break your heart with one song, your head with the next, and your funny bone with the one after that. If you only catch one concert this year, well, you should get out more -- and, when you do so, go see Tom Smith live!

Mark Bernstein

Mark Bernstein has been active in Michigan fandom since 1973, and has been to almost every ConClave, including being on the con committee a couple of times.  He's been filking since 1975, and has been a guest at various filk cons and won one Pegasus Award and a few songwriting contests.  He's mainly here to see friends and have a good time.

Joey Shoji

Began attending science fiction conventions in the late '70's.  Main fannish participation has been filk, but volunteered at cons on occasion (including Program Design and Program Ops at ConFrancisco, and Filk Programming at Denvention 3).  Continue to enjoy reading science fiction AND fantasy AND horror fiction.  Will still, on occasion, transform into a geeky fanboy when getting author autographs.  Was Fan GOH of ConClave when Gene Wolfe was the Guest of Honor.  Looking forward to attending ConClave (and visiting Zingerman's!) again.
